December 1, 2021 Dear fellow homeowners of West Springs Ranch, We, the board of WRHS, are excited to be moving forward with our plans for 2021-2022. The purpose of a residents or homeowners society is to maintain and enhance the common property of a community. Every person owning a residential property in the West Springs Ranch subdivision is a member of this society which we have renamed the West Ranch Homeowners Society. We inherited a bank balance from the previous homeowners society, so have been working on ways to spend the money prudently and in ways that benefit the entire community. After much debate and consultations we prioritized what we could do and spend the money on, in accordance with our bylaws. So far to date, we have spent the money on the seasonal flowers at the front entrance and the new rock that decorates and distinguishes our entrance. We also have designed and set up a website to share community information and be completely transparent with all activities to do with the homeowners society. It will serve to keep residents informed about upcoming board meetings and events. The hope is that by enabling our connectivity, we can engage with our neighbors and create a sense of pride and community as well as maintain and enhance our common property. The next project to consider is the maintenance of the stucco pillars around the perimeter fence and painting of the exterior perimeter fence. Though the fence is technically private property of each individual homeowner, it is prudent that there is continuity in the upkeep and the appearance of the fence, so it does not appear ‘patchwork” like. We believe that the uniformity in quality, finish and color of this fence and these stucco pillars will benefit the good of the appearance and the long term property value of all the homes in West Springs Ranch. With these upcoming projects looming, we are looking to reinstate annual homeowner fees in 2022 and they will be set at $50.00 per household. We are hoping that this small amount collected, in addition to our reserve funds from years past, will enable us to proceed with these maintenance projects. There will be further information sent to you in the new year once we have finalized the details and we hope to make the payment process simple, and easy for everyone. West Ranch Homeowners Society 109 West Ranch Rd SW Calgary, AB, T3H 5C3 Dear Resident, February 2nd, 2021 Warmest of wishes now that we are in 2021 and we can look forward to a spring with less restrictions, and more opportunity for gathering together. We are writing today to inform you of the existence of the West Ranch Homeowners Society. The society has existed (previously named West Springs Ranch Residents Association) since the community was built and its purpose is to provide stewardship over the care and maintenance of our community. The West Ranch Homeowners Society (WRHS) consists of the three cul-de-sac’s comprising West Ranch Place (100, 200, and 300’s) and the connecting West Ranch Road. In total there are 118 Homes and we are excited to meet the families within them. The previous residents association had gone dormant due to a lack of volunteers and was recently reformed. The board of directors for the newly formed West Ranch Homeowners Society consists of: Colleen Joy - President Peter Joy - Vice President Paul Norris - Treasurer Rosanna Tawiah - Secretary Jenn Hill - Director Sheldon Kingcott - Director The society will be holding its AGM on Wednesday March 10, 2021 @7pm via ZOOM video call. This letter serves as your written notice of the meeting and should you wish to attend, please email: Westranchhomeownersociety@gmail.com Once the email is received, we can send you the link. The purpose of the society is to support and care for our community. There are lots of ways this can happen, some examples being: 1) A block watch type network for security and reporting break-ins etc... 2) Beautification (flowers at the entrance to the community) 3) Community BBQ to help connect neighbours and build relationships. We would love to hear your thoughts and we are looking forward to hearing from you and sharing the board's ideas at the AGM.
